Eating Disorders, Disordered Eating and Body Image Distress: Understanding, Addressing and Treating It; Continuing Ed.

Discomfort, shame, and hatred for our bodies are causing us to turn to extreme diets, isolation, and other unhealthy means to address perceived “deficiencies,” perpetuated by an “idealized body image.” In this course, we will challenge myths and perceptions and discuss risk factors. We will study how to diagnose and treat eating disorders, how to distinguish them from disordered eating, clinical presentations, and concerns, and how to best work with an integrated care team to address body image distress with clients.

This workshop is designed for mental health practitioners working directly with clients. This may include professional counselors, therapists, social workers, and case managers, etc.

Continuing Education: 1.0 CEUs/10 CEHs.

  • Learn Health at Every Size® and Body Trust® and discuss the role these practices can have in creating a more inclusive practice
