Inclusion Statement

Adversity Rising is dedicated to celebrating the differences of others, respecting cultural differences, and building a more inclusive community built upon diversity, community, and understanding.

The goal is to create an open space for continued learning and growth, to acknowledge the presence of bias in all of us and continue to show up and put in the work to dismantling it. This is done by continuing to explore my own biases, learn about different cultures, intersecting identities and experiences and create an open space where people can feel safe to give and receive feedback.

I own my responsibility to keep leading my own charge in creating an inclusive environment and in learning biases and developing new patterns of thinking and engaging in the world and will not put anyone in a position to feel like as someone of a given identity it is their responsibility to education me but instead want to do my own work and learning while working to create a safe place for people to share their own experiences, thoughts and wants.

I will also take a firm stance against anyone projecting or perpetuating hate and exclusion in any events, programs and content I create including comments on YouTube videos, guests on my podcast, and THAT LIFE / AR community members.

Promoting the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion is an iterative and compounding process that cannot be done in a silo. I welcome any questions or feedback at any point about my own work and otherwise.
