Adversity Rising

Law of Averages — You can’t always get an ace.

Not every blog will be the best — no matter how much my perfection brain pressures me to try.

One of the best ways we can support each other is through modeling vulnerability. This creates a ripple of light to shine onto the darkness that shame shrouds us in.

That being said, I am purely writing this post as a letter and support to myself to say that it is okay that not every blog post or video or presentation is perfect. This is something I struggle with especially as I grow in my business and in the connections I have with all of you. I feel the pressure to constantly one-up myself to deliver you everything you are looking for.

But, law of averages says that most things will be average. Some posts will be great — others, not so much. The value of them is not in each post being perfect but in my willingness to show up even on days that I am struggling to write or feel like I am covered in my own shame. These posts offer learning, sure but they also offer connection and vulnerability which are, in many times, greater tools for learning and healing than anything else.

It is okay to let some days be days I give less or covet my energy for other things. I am still worthy. I am still capable and competent in what I do and do not have to prove my worth in every blog post the same as you do not have to be perfect and constantly chase the pursuit of proving your value. Be consistent. Dare to fail. Have fun in the process of learning, living and growing rather than chasing ideals of perfection that only leave you empty, burnt out and resentful.

As such, rather than ask myself to craft the perfect message to talk through this and how to deal with the distress, I am simply going to publish this post as is and let it be short, imperfect and seemingly incomplete.
